Johnny started his career at Aberdeen, making his first team debut in 2009 against Hamilton Academical. A loan spell at Peterhead followed in 2010 where he made 14 appearances before an initial loan spell at Montrose led to a permanent move in 2010. Johnny established himself in the heart of the Gable Endies defence making 111 appearances and scoring 4 goals. A versatile player, equally comfortable at right back, centre half or midfield, his SPFL experience is sure to make him a valuable asset at North Lodge. Whilst at Pittodrie Jonathan was called in the Scotland under 19 squad. Signed a three year deal at North Lodge in the summer of 2015 and started the season forming a central defensive partnership with Craig McKeown.
